WEST FORSYTH — Kelly Mill Road west of Cumming was closed for several hours Tuesday afternoon following a single-vehicle wreck that toppled a utility pole.

No one was seriously injured in the crash, which occurred about 3:45 p.m. just west of the Union Station subdivision, between Cumming and Bethelview Road.

The vehicle left the road and struck a utility pole, cracking it in two places. A small section of the broken pole is holding up the high voltage power lines.

Utility workers and law enforcement personnel closed the road because of the possibility the pole could break further, dropping the power lines onto the road.

The crash disrupted power and telephone service in the area.
