CUMMING — Two people, one of whom had to be freed from her vehicle by emergency crews, were injured Tuesday morning in a two-vehicle collision at the entrance ramp to Ga. 400 from Bald Ridge Marina Road.

The crash occurred about 10 a.m. when a pickup truck heading east on Bald Ridge Marina Road struck the passenger side of a minivan as it attempted to make a left onto the Ga. 400 south ramp, according to Cumming Police Officer Mike McGee.

It was not immediately clear who had the right of way, though both drivers reportedly claimed it, McGee said.

The driver of the pickup was not injured in the crash, though his adult female passenger suffered non-life threatening injuries, according to Forsyth County Fire Division Chief Jason Shivers.

Fire crews worked to free the minivan driver, also an adult woman, from her crushed vehicle that had slid down an embankment into a wooded area by the Bald Ridge Marina Road bridge.

She and the pickup truck passenger were taken to North Fulton Hospital in stable condition.

Bald Ridge Marina Road was reduced to one eastbound lane of traffic as crews cleared scene, and westbound motorists could not cross the intersection to access Ga. 400 south.

An investigation is ongoing to determine fault and any potential charges, though McGee drugs and alcohol are not thought to be involved.
