Armed suspect sought in southwest Forsyth gas station robbery

SOUTHWEST FORSYTH -- Deputies are asking for help in identifying a suspect who robbed a gas station at gunpoint Monday morning in southwest Forsyth.

The suspect entered the Murphy Express gas station, located at 5415 Atlanta Highway, around 8:15 a.m., armed with a “small black handgun,” according to Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office Cpl. Pete Sabella.

Sabella said the suspect is a black male about 6 feet tall with a medium build and appearing to be in his 30s.

He reportedly fled out of the store’s back door with an undisclosed amount of cash.

He said a store clerk was the only person inside at the time of the incident.

The suspect was last seen crossing Atlanta Highway in the area of nine North Drive.
