A Forsyth County man was arrested on Wednesday afternoon and charged with child molestation, local authorities say.

Miguel Cumplido Delgado, 48, was taken into custody on Oct. 23, at the south precinct of the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office on one felony charge of child molestation, sheriff’s office records show.

According to sheriff’s office spokesman Cpl. Doug Rainwater, Delgado has been accused of having inappropriate sexual contact with an unrelated female child while staying at the victim’s residence in mid-September.

Rainwater said that allegations against Delgado later were brought forward to authorities, and warrants were issued for his arrest after forensic interviews with the victim and other witnesses.

Delgado was booked into the Forsyth County Jail on Wednesday night and is being held under no bond at the current time.
