Authorities search for suspects in gym burglary

Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office detectives are looking for suspects responsible for stealing more than $9,000 from a south Forsyth gym.

According to an incident report from Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, when the owners of Power Performance Fitness opened their gym at around 8:30 a.m. Feb. 1, they discovered multiple items missing.

The report stated that the stolen items included ab mats, wake balls, bumper plates, kettle bells, a set of barbells, a set of workout collars and a set of slam balls. The items were collectively valued at $9,212, according to the report.

In the report, Forsyth County Sheriff’s Deputy Caldwell stated that the owners explained that “they are not sure who could have taken the items as many people have keys and access codes to the gym, and not all of them are employees.”

The report stated that no security footage from the incident was available, and the building had no signs of forced entry.

As of press time, no suspects in this burglary have been identified.
