Cumming couple arrested for drug possession and sale

A Cumming couple has been arrested on charges of drug possession and the intent to sell after a search of their north Forsyth home uncovered marijuana, cocaine and weapons.

According to Cpl. Doug Rainwater, spokesman for the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, Keven Pope, a 42-year-old male and Erica Pope, a 32-year-old female were arrested late Wednesday night following a search of their residence off of Manor Park by the Johns Creek Alpharetta Forsyth Drug Task Force.

Keven Pope has been charged with several crimes including the sale of a schedule II narcotic, possession or manufacturing controlled substances, possession of marijuana over an ounce, possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute, sale of controlled substances, sale of marijuana, possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of a crime and the possession of drug related objects.

Erica Pope has been charged with possession of marijuana over an ounce, possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute, sale of controlled substances, possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of a crime and the possession of drug related objects.

Both suspects were taken to the Forsyth County Jail and remain there without bond.

After a previous arrest by the Johns Creek Alpharetta Forsyth Drug Task Force, Rainwater said the task force was created several months ago to tackle drug related crimes in the Forsyth, Johns Creek and Alpharetta area.
