Hall County Sheriff’s Office investigators searching for stolen fishing equipment landed quite a haul after executing a warrant Friday.

The department said they recovered “a sizeable amount” of equipment and are looking for the owners.

“The items are believed to have been taken from docks on Lake Lanier over the summer, generally from the Hall/Forsyth County line to the area of Lumpkin County Park. The area includes shoreline in Dawson, Forsyth and Hall counties,” according to the sheriff’s office.

The items included 34 rods with reels, five life jackets in a clear case, 22 tackle boxes and a small blue kayak.

Victims, including those who have not initially filed a report, can contact the investigator at 770-533-7728 or matkins@hallcounty.org about claiming their property.
