Forsyth County Sheriff's office deputy honored for achievements

Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Joshua Matthew Day recently received the 2017 American Legion Department of Georgia Law Enforcement Officer of the Year award and Post 307’s Law Enforcement Officer of the Year award, as well as the 2016 sheriff’s office enforcement division’s Deputy of the Year.

He was responsible for the arrest of six burglary suspects who were accused of taking 121 stolen firearms after backing a truck into Forsyth County Pawn Inc. in Cumming in January.

The suspects were involved in numerous burglaries across metro Atlanta, including reportedly swiping firearms from Bulls Eye Marksman Gun Club in south Forsyth in December 2016.
