SOUTH FORSYTH – The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office is following up on tips investigators believe may lead them to two men who robbed the RaceTrac gas station at 915 McFarland Parkway early Friday morning.

Robin Regan, spokesman for the sheriff’s office, said two black men armed with handguns entered the store at about 3:40 a.m. Their ages or further identifying information has not been released.

According to Regan, the men took an undisclosed amount of cash before leaving in a customer’s vehicle after demanding that person’s car keys, cell phone and wallet.

No one was injured in the incident, according to a sheriff’s report.

A traffic stop was made soon after in Sandy Springs by several different Fulton County law enforcement agencies after a person on scene at the gas station attempted to follow the suspects.

However, the vehicle that was stopped was not the stolen vehicle, and “there was no immediate evidence to suggest it was directly involved in this robbery,” and the occupants and vehicle were subsequently released.

Surveillance footage or other information has not been released yet.

Anyone with information about this robbery is asked to contact the sheriff’s office at (770) 781-3071.
