Authorities have arrested an Oakwood woman in connection with a hit-and-run wreck that seriously injured another driver in late January.

Kelly Brooke Roper, 35, of Oakwood was taken into custody by the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday after she was released from the Fulton County Jail on bond for a charge of theft by shoplifting, according to Cpl. Doug Rainwater of the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office.

Rainwater said that Roper is believed to be the driver responsible for a wreck on Peachtree Parkway at Sharon Road on Jan. 23, that fled the scene on foot, leaving her vehicle and another seriously injured driver at the scene.

Roper was allegedly tracked down by detectives through her vehicle. According to Rainwater, she matched descriptions of a suspect that were given at the scene.

Roper has been charged with felony hit and run and failure to render aid, and was released from custody Thursday evening on a bond of $2,365.
