The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office’s ninth annual poker/dice run is Sunday.

The event is in memory of Sheriff’s Sgt. David Land, who was killed in March 2003 when his motorcycle crashed on Hwy. 20 near Haw Creek Road while he was responding to an emergency.

Proceeds from the benefit will go to the Georgia Sheriffs Youth Homes.

The event is scheduled for Sunday morning at Biker’s Dream on Atlanta Highway.

The first bike leaves at 9:30 a.m. and the last at 11 a.m. The ride will end at Stars and Strikes Family Entertainment Center in Cumming.

Preregistration is not required. Cost is $25 per bike, $10 per second hand and passengers ride free.

Prizes range from $300 to $100 and there will be an award for the worst hand.
