A former Burger King employee is accused of forcing another employee into the freezer at knifepoint before taking $2,800 in cash, police said.

Delottai Mykel Davis, 26, is charged with aggravated assault and armed robbery stemming from an alleged incident May 11 at the Pearl Nix Parkway Burger King in Gainesville.

Gainesville Police Sgt. Kevin Holbrook said Davis and the victim were employees, and a representative at the restaurant said Davis was no longer employed there.

According to the warrants, Davis is accused of holding a large kitchen knife and forcing the co-worker to “to kneel down against the victim’s will” in the freezer.

He is charged with false imprisonment for allegedly “containing or confining (the victim) to the Burger King freezer following a robbery,” according to the warrants.

Davis allegedly took a cellphone and money from the victim with the knife at her throat, in addition to $2,800 and cordless phones belonging to the Burger King, according to court documents.

Davis was arrested Saturday and booked in to the Hall County Jail, where he remains.

He was additionally charged with theft by taking, kidnapping and possession of a knife during the commission of a crime. Holbrook did not disclose details on Davis’ apprehension.
