Authorities have arrested a man from north Forsyth for child molestation after authorities were alerted to an incident of inappropriate conduct that allegedly took place in early June.

Joseph Dewayne Hamby, 31, of Forsyth County was arrested at noon Thursday at his home off of Keith’s Bridge Road, according to Cpl. Doug Rainwater, spokesman for the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office.

Rainwater said that Hamby is accused of having inappropriate sexual contact with a minor female family member. Rainwater said that the incident allegedly took place in early June and was reported to the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office this week.
