SOUTH FORSYTH – Local authorities have identified the suspect who remains at large after stealing a vehicle during a robbery in south Forsyth late last week.

According to the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, 19-year-old Wayne Christopher Alford, of Atlanta, is wanted in the county for robbery by force/robbery by intimidation in connection with the July 8 carjacking at the Dunkin Donuts at 7810 McGinnis Ferry Road just east of the intersection with Old Atlanta Road and the Forsyth-Fulton County line.

Fingerprints lifted from the stolen Toyota RAV4 were found on scene that reportedly linked Alford to the incident, said Deputy Epifanio Rodriguez, a spokesman for the sheriff’s office.

Rodriguez said Alford is accused of walking up to the driver’s side door of a woman’s car in the drive thru and forcing “her out of the vehicle by her hair.”

According to an incident report, the 29-year-old woman stated she thought he was upset for almost hitting him but “realized he was trying to take the vehicle.”

He reportedly reached his arm through the open window an unlocked the door before forcing her out.

“To my knowledge there was no weapon” involved in the crime, Rodriguez said.

The vehicle was recovered a short time later in the Riverwalk subdivision.

Deputies were apparently informed by residents in the neighborhood that he was picked up by a white female with an unknown clothing description in a blue BMW 325i and headed back toward Old Atlanta Road.

Alford had reportedly been running from Suwanee police, who attempted to initiate a traffic stop while he was behind the wheel of a stolen pickup truck.

He does not have any criminal history in Forsyth County.

Anyone with information on the incident or the suspect is asked to call the sheriff’s office at (770) 781-2222.
