Authorities are searching for a man suspected of robbing a bank inside a west Forsyth grocery store Monday morning.

Forsyth County Sheriff’s Capt. Tim House said the suspect got away with an undisclosed amount of cash from Best Bank at Kroger, 2325 Bethelview Road.

He was last seen walking toward the intersection of Bethelview and Hwy. 20, where authorities think he then left in a vehicle.

House said no injuries were reported in connection with the robbery, which occurred about 10:15 a.m., and the suspect did not brandish a weapon.

According to sheriff’s Investigator Matt Runion, the man approached a bank employee and asked for the money kept in the vault.

Sheriff’s reports described the man as 25 to 35 years old with noticeable acne scars on his face, which he attempted to conceal using an air filter. He was carrying a tool box.

He is 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall with a husky build. He was wearing a yellow or orange jacket with a vertical stripe on the right breast, a blue dress shirt and dark jeans, according to reports.

Authorities have asked anyone who encounters the suspect to call 911 and not approach him.
