Authorities are searching for a man who reportedly escaped after robbing a bank in south Forsyth.

The incident occurred about 2:15 p.m. Tuesday at the Wachovia at 4205 Johns Creek Parkway.

Karleen Chalker, spokeswoman for the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, said no one was injured in the robbery.

“He entered the bank and passed a note to the teller stating that this was a bank robbery,” Chalker said. “Once he got the money, he exited the bank. We’re not sure what type of vehicle he got into.”

The man did not show a weapon during the robbery, she said.

The suspect was described in reports as a black man, about 5-feet-4 inches tall with a thin build.

He was clean-shaven and wearing tan sunglasses, baggy jeans and a Polo style shirt with horizontal red, white and blue stripes.

Chalker said investigators have contacted the FBI about the robbery.
