Three men are in custody and two more are in the hospital after several burglaries in Dawson and Forsyth counties led to a multi-county car chase down Ga. 400 early Thursday morning.

Cartavious Jerard Bradley, Edward Carlos Brown Jr., and Derrick Tremaine Perry Jr., were arrested at 3:30 a.m. Thursday, when a car was forcibly stopped by authorities on Ga. 400 near Roswell Road in Sandy Springs, according to Cpl. Doug Rainwater, a spokesman for the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office.

Rainwater said that after the vehicle was forced to stop by authorities using a pit maneuver, a method of forcing a fleeing vehicle to turn and stop, five suspects fled on foot and were quickly subdued by law enforcement officers.

According to Rainwater, the chase started with reports of a gas station burglary in Dawson County and another attempted gas station burglary in Forsyth County. He said that the suspected vehicle was spotted by Cumming Police at Bald Ridge Marina Road near Ga. 400 Exit 15, and that Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office deputies began chasing the vehicle at Exit 13.

Bundles of lottery tickets, cash and a handgun were found in the suspect’s vehicle when it was forced off the road in Sandy Springs. Rainwater said that the lottery tickets will likely tie the five men to the Dawson County burglary.

Bradley, 23, of Atlanta has been charged with attempted burglary, theft by receiving a stolen vehicle, obstruction of a criminal investigation, possession of a firearm in the commission of a crime, felony fleeing and eluding, reckless driving, speeding and failure to maintain lane.

Brown Jr., 25, of Atlanta has been charged with attempted burglary, theft by receiving a stolen vehicle, obstruction of a criminal investigation and possession of a firearm in the commission of a crime.

Perry Jr., 17, of Atlanta has been charged with attempted burglary, theft by receiving a stolen vehicle, obstruction of a criminal investigation and possession of a firearm in the commission of a crime.

All three suspects have been taken to the Forsyth County Jail, and as of press time are being held with no bond.

Rainwater said that two more suspects were arrested after the car chase, taken to a local hospital for treatment and have not yet been formally charged.

He said that multiple law enforcement agencies assisted in the multi-county chase including the Alpharetta Police Department, Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, Cumming Police, Sandy Springs Police and Georgia State Patrol.
