A 73-year-old man died Thursday night, several hours after he was involved in a south Forsyth wreck.

Authorities said it was not immediately clear if the man’s death was directly related to the two-vehicle collision on Hwy. 141.

According to a Forsyth County Sheriff’s report, Raymond Cunningham of Diplomat Drive was taken to North Fulton Hospital in Roswell for treatment of injuries from the wreck.

Sheriff’s Capt. Tim House said Cunningham was conscious and talking en route to the hospital, but died within six hours after arriving.

The wreck, which slowed the evening commute, occurred about 6 p.m. on Hwy. 141 at Diplomat Drive.

According to the incident report, Cunningham was heading west on Diplomat in a 1999 Cadillac Deville when he attempted to turn left onto the southbound lane of Hwy. 141.

At the same time, a 2003 BMW, driven by 40-year-old Lisa McNally of Burlington Court, was traveling north on the highway.

The vehicles collided, with the Cadillac continuing over the southbound lane before stopping on the roadside.

McNally was taken to Northside Hospital-Forsyth. Her condition could not be determined.
