Authorities want to talk to the driver of a vehicle that may have been involved in a weekend wreck on a western Forsyth County road.

The incident Saturday morning left left one man hospitalized and his brother injured.

Jose David Torres, 20, of Gordon Road was flown to Atlanta Medical Center with critical injuries after his Ford Mustang ran off Post Road, according to a Forsyth County Sheriff’s report.

He is listed in fair condition, a hospital spokeswoman said Tuesday.

Torres’s passenger, his 17-year-old brother Julian Torres, was also injured.

The report said Julian Torres was released from North Fulton Regional Hospital after being treated for what were described as minor injuries.

The incident occurred about 8 a.m.

According to the report, the brothers were heading south on Post Road when a white Mitsubishi Galant attempted to pass them.

The report indicates Torres accelerated to avoid being passed and the Galant moved back into the right hand lane causing the Mustang’s tires to drop off the edge of the pavement.

Torres lost control, crossed the road and went into a field where his Mustang flipped three times.

Torres and his brother were thrown from the vehicle while the Galant, which authorities described as an early 2000s model, continued south on Post.

Sheriff’s Capt. Frank Huggins said no charges have been filed in connection with the incident.

Authorities want to hear the driver of the Galant’s side of the story.

“An investigation is going on to determine the circumstances surrounding what precipitated this,” he said, adding that the Galant was attempting to pass in a legal zone.
