GAINESVILLE — The North Georgia Community Foundation has opened the application period for scholarships it administers.

The deadline for area high school seniors to apply is March 5.

In 2014, the foundation awarded 145 scholarships totaling more than $180,000 from 26 scholarship funds established by donors.

The scholarships are available to high school seniors who are graduating in 2015.

Each scholarship fund is established by an individual donor and has its own specific purpose and eligibility criteria. Awards vary in size depending on the amount available in the fund.

Students in the foundation’s service area — which includes Forsyth, Hall, Dawson and 12 other counties — are eligible to apply.

Applications and more information about the eligibility requirements for each scholarship can be found at www.ngcf.org/scholarships.

Students may apply for as many scholarships as they choose as long as they meet eligibility requirements.

For more information, please contact the foundation at www.ngcf.org or call (770) 535-7880, Ext. 226.
