SOUTH FORSYTH -- Two Forsyth County students were recently elected to serve on Georgia DECA’s executive officer team for the 2017-18 school year.
Will Bradley, a junior at South Forsyth High School, was elected as executive president Feb. 18, marking his second year on the state’s executive board, which is based out of Atlanta.
He previously served as executive vice president of career development for the state and was responsible for DECA’s statewide community service project, which partnered with the Keep Georgia Beautiful Foundation, where the organization completed more than 95 community clean-up events across Georgia.
“I am so excited to be able to enter into my second year serving the many members of our state association,” Bradley said. “Taking on this leadership role is a challenge that I am looking forward to. I can’t wait to get to work with this great new team to serve our DECA students. It’s already shaping up to be a productive and successful year.”
Natalie Kandul, a sophomore at Lambert High School, will join the team as executive vice president of marketing.
She is enrolled in the marketing education program, as well as DECA, its co-curricular affiliate program, at Lambert.
“I am very excited to be able to serve Georgia DECA alongside my fellow officers,” she said. “I eagerly anticipate seeing the changes and implementations that will come for Georgia DECA this year.”
DECA, a marketing and business club, has local, state and national chapters in high schools and colleges throughout the world.
The students will largely focus on conference planning and management in their new positions and will aid in the operation of the statewide chapter’s Fall Rally, Fall Leadership Development Conference, the Regional Career Development Conference and the Georgia DECA State Career Development Conference.
In addition to DECA, Bradley serves as a small group leader at Browns Bridge Church and mentors Forsyth’s at-risk youth as part of the Mentor Me North Georgia program.
Kandul is involved in Lambert’s student mentor program, Compass Student Ambassadors, Computer Science Club and the varsity swim team.
