The Forsyth County school system has let out for winter break, which runs from Friday through Jan. 7.

Teachers and staff members, however, must return to work Jan. 6 for a professional development day.

The next scheduled holiday in the 2013-14 school year will be Jan. 20 for Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
