FORSYTH COUNTY -- Traffic should be lighter around Forsyth County this week as the public school system is off for spring break.
Students spent their last day at school Friday and won’t return until April 7.
“We wish our staff, students and their families a happy and safe spring break,” said Superintendent Buster Evans. “The Board of Education offices will be open through Wednesday of next week.
“When all return on April 7, we have a lot of work to accomplish in seven short weeks. As we close down the year we are also planning for the new school year, so it is an exciting and busy time for all.”
While the roads may appear to be less congested, system transportation director Garry Puetz urged drivers to remain cautious.
The break will be the last time off for students until the school year ends on May 23.
