SOUTH FORSYTH — South Forsyth High’s band boosters are looking for local student bands to perform next month during Bandapalooza, the second annual rock music and arts festival at the school.

Bandapalooza is set for 3:30 to 10 p.m. April 30 at South’s stadium. Registration closes at noon Friday.

“What they have to provide is a list of all the band members, a typical set list of what they want to play, special instrument requirements,” said,” Lissa Pijanowski, event coordinator. “We do ask that they provide a band photo and a track or two and video, if they have it, so we can listen before accepting them.”

Professional sound and lighting will be provided, as will a drum kit, microphones and amplifiers.

Tickets are $5 in advance and $7 at the gate. They will go on sale April 1, the same day the list of bands will be released.

Pijanowski said there will also be art on display and for sale from South Forsyth artists, and that there will also be concession and T-shirts available.

“We really wanted to create a signature event to celebrate the arts, and we wanted it to be in the spring,” she said.  “We also are working really hard to raise money to buy new uniforms for our band, as well as new instruments as our band program is going.”
