Broadcasting students from West Forsyth High School will soon be in the spotlight at a state competition.

Students Conner Waters, Pri Kolli, Colin Spruill and Channing Bridges will be one of 16 teams in the state to compete in the Skills USA State Leadership and Skills Conference in Atlanta on March 22-24 at the Georgia International Convention Center. It will be the second year teacher John White has had a team reach the state competition.

During the competition, the team will be given a prompt, have to write a script and will be given a certain amount of time to produce their broadcast in a multi-camera setup.

Two students will fill the role of anchors, one will be a director/technical director and one will be the floor director.

To make the state competition, the team was given time to write, shoot, edit and submit a two to three minute news story, along with an online test.
