Kudos to South Forsyth and West Forsyth high schools for recently earning positive national recognition.
Both schools were listed in the Washington Post Challenge Index of the nation’s top high schools. South Forsyth ranked 554th in the index, while West Forsyth was 901st.
The index rankings are based on a formula comparing the number of students taking Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate or other college-level tests to the total number graduating. This was the first year for the compilation of the index.
The honor was particularly sweet for West Forsyth, which is only four years old and made the list despite not having an IB program.
Congratulations to the principals, their staffs, and most of all the students for their exemplary academic efforts.
