A horse barn located off Hurt Bridge Road in north Forsyth was destroyed in a fire Monday night.

Firefighters responded to the 1,600-square-foot structure around 9:30 p.m., where they found it in flames, according to Forsyth County Fire Division Chief Jason Shivers.

“When the caller noticed it, it was fully involved,” he said. “Some small pieces of equipment were lost, such as saddles, but no animals were injured —the horses were all out in a pasture.”

Though the cause of the fire is currently under investigation, Shivers said “all indications are that it was accidental.”
