Five shot, four dead in south Forsyth shooting

UPDATE: The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office is now saying that four people are dead.

The fourth person succumbed to injuries either en route to the hospital or upon arrival.

The fifth person is being treated at a hospital with multiple gunshot wounds, according to Epifanio Rodriguez, a spokesman for the sheriff's office.

SOUTH FORSYTH – At least three people are dead after what authorities are calling a murder-suicide on Old Atlanta Road Wednesday morning.

According to Robin Regan, a spokesman for the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, a total of five were shot. Two were transported to an area hospital in unknown conditions.

It was not immediately clear whether the shooter was among the dead or shot, but Regan said the scene has been contained and that there is no longer any danger to the public or the residence.

The domestic-related shooting occurred around 6:30 a.m. Old Atlanta Road has been shut down from Westminster Lane to the Fulton-Forsyth county line at McGinnis Ferry Road.

Any further information about those involved has not yet been released.
