CUMMING — The Forsyth County Republican Party is gathering Wednesday night to watch the second debate of the year for presidential candidates.

The viewing party is set for 7:30 p.m. at Summit’s Wayside Tavern, 525 Lake Center Pkwy. in Cumming.

“The first [debate party] went well [earlier this year], we had a good turnout,” said Jason Mock, chairman of the local group. “There was a lot of energy in the room for that first debate to see how the candidates would react to questions.”

Mock said the event is open to all.

“I would recommend anybody [come out] that is interested in hearing what the candidates have to say,” he said. “Even if you may not say you’re a Republican, but you’re interested in finding out a little bit more about the Republican Party of Forsyth County, as well as the 2016 presidential candidates.”
