WEST FORSYTH — A family in west Forsyth lost their home to fire early Sunday morning, authorities said.

One child and three adults were inside the house on Pittman Circle, which is off Pittman Road near the intersection of Kelly Mill and Bethelview roads, at the time of the blaze and escaped unharmed, according to Forsyth County Fire Division Chief Jason Shivers.

The home was covered by flames when firefighters arrived at 5:55 a.m., Shivers said. The residence and a vehicle parked in the driveway are a total loss.

Two cats that remain unaccounted for are believed to have been in the home.

A cause and origin of the blaze are not yet known, though nothing about the incident is thought to be suspicious, Shivers said. An investigation remains open.

No firefighters were injured. Shivers said the American Red Cross has been notified of the incident and family’s losses.
