A new traffic signal on Peachtree Parkway (Hwy. 141) is scheduled to debut Tuesday.
The state Department of Transportation has installed the new signal where Stoney Point Road meets the parkway.
The signal is in flashing in test mode. Weather permitting, and provided testing goes well, the signal will be activated sometime after noon Tuesday.
“Once the signal is operational, please use extra caution until you get familiar with the new signal location,” said Bayne Smith, a DOT district engineer. “Remember to watch out for other drivers until they get used to the new signal too.”
According to the DOT, each intersection is reviewed to determine if it meets the federal guidelines for a traffic signal.
