Cumming quilter to launch book at annual show

CUMMING -- A Cumming woman will launch her new book during the 34th Great American Cover-Up Quilt Show at Bulloch Hall in Roswell.

Diane Knott, a 20-year-member of the local quilting guild, is being published by C&T Publishing.

From 5 to 7 p.m. March 6, she will talk about how a local quilter “gets discovered” by a national publisher.

“We are so very proud of her and are honored that she will have quilts from the new book in our show,” said Sharyl Dawes, Bulloch Hall Quilt Show co-chair.

The event will feature a wine and cheese reception that can be enjoyed while attendees explore the some 200 quilts made by local artists that will be displayed in the antebellum home.

The mansion is the childhood home of Mittie Bulloch, mother of President Teddy Roosevelt. Entrance to the reception costs $10.

A special exhibit by fiber artist Christine Cetrulo from Lexington, Ky., will be on display all 10 days, with a “Meet the Artist” party at 2 p.m. March 13.

The entire exhibit will be on display March 4-13, with hours of 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday.s

Admission to Bulloch Hall, 180 Bulloch Ave., is $8 for adults, $7 for seniors, $6 for children 6-18 and free for children younger than 6.
