Thousands visited Fowler Park on a sunny Sunday afternoon for an annual Forsyth County event. The Play at the Park Family Fun Festival drew a crowd estimated at more than 5,000, organizer Laura Pate said.“It was fantastic,” Pate said. “People were coming and going all day.”The 10th annual event had “something for all ages,” she said, and received positive feedback from both visitors and vendors.“The food vendors were happy too because they ran out of food,” Pate said.Businesses and clubs who participated have already asked about returning next year, she said. The county parks department, which puts on the event, anticipates holding it again with a similar structure as this year, she said. The festival moved in 2011 from Central Park to Fowler, which had opened in February of that year.
