First Redeemer Church will celebrate the nation's independence this weekend with a visit from a man whom Pastor Richard Lee called "a great young American."
Former University of Florida quarterback and current Denver Bronco Tim Tebow will join the south Forsyth church on Sunday for breakfast and services.
The church invited Tebow to share stories from his life and football career.
Lee said tickets have been selling quickly for the 7:45 a.m. breakfast, where guests can meet Tebow, as well as get autographs and photographs.
"People are excited about seeing him and hearing him share his heart," Lee said.
The 9:15 and 10:45 a.m. services, which are free and open to the public, will also feature Tebow as a guest speaker.
Lee said the church aims to present positive role models for young Christians.
"We have a firm belief at First Redeemer in the up and coming generation of our nation and believe that America will be in good hands in the future as we continue to provide the great examples of what true Americans are," he said.
Tebow, a Heisman trophy winner who played for the Gators from the 2005-09, is also known for his missionary work and strong faith.
