SOUTH FORSYTH -- A Forsyth County author will be teaching a seminar about plot structure later this month at the Sharon Forks Library.

David Darracott, recently honored as Georgia’s Author of the Year in the detective and mystery category, is the author of “Wasted” and “Internal Security.”

He is scheduled to appear at 2 p.m. Aug. 16 in the south Forsyth library branch, teaching other writers how to make their books more reader-friendly as part of “Couldn’t Put it Down: Writing Seminar.”

“He’ll be focusing on marketing your novel and making it something that readers can’t put down,” said Laura Bradley, program manager for the local library system.

Darracott, a county resident, has previous experience with the library system and has been involved with the Forsyth Writes Together and FCPL Writing Group programs.

He has also written short stories and nonfiction for magazines, television and film and holds a master’s degree in English.

Bradley said library visitors have offered positive feedback about Darracott and asked to bring him back for library programs.

“We’re looking forward to having him return and present an awesome seminar,” she said.

Sharon Forks Library is at 2820 Old Atlanta Road. To register for the progam, go online at www.forsythpl.org.
