FORSYTH COUNTY — The Forsyth County Parks and Recreation Department is holding a community yard sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday in the parking lot of Central Park.

The yard sale, part of a community outreach effort, is in its second year. It is not a fundraiser for the department, but rather a reason to draw those who may not normally visit the park.

“We’re really doing this as more of a community event, just to get people out,” said Elizabeth Shoemake, coordinator. “… It could be a fundraiser for an organization that signed up for one of our spots, but everybody that signs up, the money goes directly back to them.”

Shoemake said registration for sellers has closed, but that people and organizations will have many items for sale.

“It’s just like any other type yard sale, that’s the type of items that you’re going to see,” she said. “A lot of times we have a lot of kids’ clothing.

“I’ve heard that there is going to be some furniture here this time. We also typically have tools and household goods.”

Central Park is at 2300 Keith Bridge Road, north of Cumming. For more information, call (678) 455-8540.
