South Forsyth High School DECA members Maya Reaume and Farrah McIntosh received a first-of-its-kind scholarship from a family that has supported the club for more than a decade.

Reaume and McIntosh each received $2,500 through the Murphy Family Foundation Scholarship at the club’s end-of-year awards banquet. The scholarship was established to support two DECA students from the school each year by Brendan and Cindy Murphy. The Murphy’s have three children who graduated from South Forsyth, and Brendan Murphy has employed South Forsyth marketing work-based learning/internship students for the past 13 years at Stayma Consulting Services.

Meanwhile, South Forsyth student Kenedy Lucas received the Outstanding DECA Member Scholarship and Sydney Wallace received the Jim Severnak DECA Advisory Board Scholarship.
