More than 280 runners took part in the Jay Cullen Memorial 5K on Saturday at Cumming First Baptist Church.
This year marked the 10th anniversary of the run, which began in 2004 as a tribute to the late Cullen, an avid runner and cyclist who was struck and killed by a car while bicycling that year.
Scott Carpenter, one of the event organizers, said the anniversary run drew about 100 more runners than last year’s event.
“It was a great day with phenomenal weather,” he said. “We really appreciate everybody who came out.”
The run raised about $6,000 for a First Baptist mission trip this summer, in which teenagers and adults will travel to New York to help a church planter.
