Forsyth County residents again turned out in droves to recycle their real Christmas trees Saturday during the Bring One for the Chipper event. The statewide tree recycling day included two Home Depot drop-off locations, the county’s three recycling centers and Vickery Creek Elementary School.Keep Forsyth County Beautiful organizes the annual “chipper” effort locally, which has a large and steady following, said Tammy Wright, environmental programs manager.“We appreciate everybody for bringing them out. It’s just a fun, easy event,” Wright said. “I think everybody’s glad to get them out of the house, and we’re just glad they bring them there instead of putting them in a landfill.”While this year’s total hasn’t been determined, residents recycled 8,710 trees in 2012.
