Registration is open in Forsyth County for fall softball, baseball leagues

With summer starting to wind down, registration is open for a pair of popular fall sports.

Registration for fall softball and baseball leagues opened Monday and will continue through 5 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6. Registration is open for boys and girls ages 4-17.

“The fall baseball and softball league is a very popular program,” said Parks and Recreation Director Jim Pryor in a news release. “It’s a great way for kids to learn and practice their skills and make new friends.”

Per the release, the fall league is “an instructional league and scores or standings will not be recorded” and is intended to teach players fundamentals and rules of the game ahead of the competitive spring league.

Practices will begin the first week of September, and games will start later that month continue through October.

Registration is available at the county’s three recreation centers: Central Park, 2300 Keith Bridge Road; Fowler Park, 4110 Carolene Way; and Old Atlanta Park, 810 Nichols Road. The fee is $75 for Forsyth County residents and $150 for non-county residents.
