Forsyth County disc golfers will have a new facility to play the sport starting next weekend.
On Saturday, March 16, Forsyth County Parks and Recreation will open a new disc golf course at Chattahoochee Pointe, at 5790 Chattahoochee Pointe Drive, and as part of the opening-day festivities, a tournament sanctioned by the Professional Disc Golf Association will be held. The course will be open to the public on Sunday, March 17.
“We look forward to offering an additional disc golf course in the southern portion of the county,” parks and recreation director Jim Pryor said in a news release. “The existing course at Central Park is well-used, and this will provide another outlet for disc golfers in the county as well as visitors from the surrounding areas.”
The course will feature 18 holes with blue tees for advanced players and white tees for beginner and intermediate players, along with two basket setting options to create different challenges.
The course was paid for using SPLOST VII funding, and 60 new trees, provided by three local Rotary Clubs, were planted with the course installation.
