Those planning to attend the Forsyth County Republican Party's meeting Tuesday are asked to bring items to help tornado victims in north Georgia.

Anyone, regardless of political party or viewpoint, is welcome to donate cleaning and construction supplies, infant formula, food and batteries, among other items.

The party is working with the office of District 9 U.S. Rep. Tom Graves, R-Ranger, which is making daily trips to affected areas with donations.

"We’re trying to help them out with basic needs to help people get back on their feet,” said Ethan Underwood, local party chairman.

All items collected Tuesday will be delivered to the congressman’s office for distribution to affected counties.

The meeting is set for 6:30 p.m. at the Forsyth County Senior Center.
