A section of a north Forsyth road will be closed to through traffic for about 11 days next month.

Concord Road, between Oak Grove Circle and Corn Drive, is expected to be closed from June 1-11.

The closing will allow the county to replace a failing cross drain at Settingdown Creek, said Tim Allen, assistant director of engineering.

“This is a preventative maintenance project,” Allen said. “The replacement pipes are concrete, which will be very long-lasting.”

Material costs for the project are expected to be $19,000, county spokeswoman Jodi Gardner said.

Riley Road, which runs parallel to Concord, can be used as a detour, she said.
