The Forsyth County Zoning Board of Appeals voted 4-0 on Tuesday night to grant requests for the following:

•  Rear yard variance of 19 feet to allow an existing structure to remain 6 feet from the property line at 3620 Shadow Creek Drive. The requirement is 25 feet. Also approved was a 2-foot side yard variance to allow the structure to remain 8 feet from the property line instead of 10 feet and an accessory structure size variance of 504 feet.

•  Exterior yard variance to allow a storage building to be built 5 feet from the property line, instead of the required 50 feet, at 7760 Leeward Cove Court. Also approved was a request for a 9-foot side yard variance so the building can be 1 foot from the side property line rather than 10 feet.

•  Exterior yard variance of 6 feet to allow an addition to remain 44 feet from the property line at 5815 Shannon Drive. The requirement is 50 feet.

•  Rear yard variance of 15 feet so a swimming pool can be put in 10 feet from the property line at 3650 Pennington Road. The requirement is 25 feet.

•  Exterior yard variance for a structure to be built 35 feet from the property line, rather the required 50 feet, at 1620 Parkside Village Drive.

•  Exterior yard variance for a swimming pool to be installed 40 feet from the property line at 10070 Normandy Lane. The requirement is 50 feet.

•  Side yard variance of 5 feet at the south side of Buford Highway, about 890 feet south of Trammel Road. The variance will allow a structure to be built 5 feet from the property line rather than the required 10 feet. Also approved was a variance to allow a buffer to be 0 feet rather than the required 40 feet.

• Also: The board read into the record a resolution honoring former member Joe Staffieri for his service since May 10, 2004.

• Note: Board member H. Craig Nolen was absent.
