Last year’s City of Cumming Music Festival was such as success, organizers are trying it again.
The city of Cumming and 37 Main, a rock café in Gainesville, are once again teaming up for two more shows this year – the second annual City of Cumming Music Festival on Saturday, July 27 and the Red, White and Rock Music Festival on July 4 – both at the Cumming Fairgrounds.
Like last year’s event, tribute bands playing the music of some of rock’s biggest acts will be on hand to provide tunes at Cumming Music Festival.
Acts will pay tribute to musical artists including Bon Jovi, Fleetwood Mac, Guns N Roses, Jason Aldean, Ozzy Osbourne, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Chris Cornell and Green Day, along with local acts Klaus and Boogilicious.
For Red, White and Rock, the Independence Day celebration will feature 84 – a Van Halen tribute band – and Cowboy, a Kid Rock tribute, with fireworks after the show.
The shows aren’t the first concerts announced by 37 Main at the fairgrounds this year.
On June 8, The Icon Music Fest will be headlined by The Purple Xperience and I Am King, tribute artists playing the works of Prince and Michael Jackson, respectively.
“We had a little bit of success with the two we put on last year,” Joe White, with 37 Main, said previously. “The crowd really seemed to love the shows. So when the opportunity came again from [Mayor Troy Brumbalow] and the city, we were all over that.”
White said after the shows last year – the Cumming Music Festival and Classic Rock Tribute Fest – they wanted to try a new theme for a show.
Tickets are currently only available for The Icon Music Fest but information for all three are available at Buford.37main.com/cumming-fairgrounds-concerts.
