CUMMING — The Cumming Fairgrounds is playing host this weekend to the 14th annual Cumming Steam, Antique Tractor and Gas Engine Expo.

The event, organized by the Cumming Antique Power Association and the city of Cumming, opens today and continues Saturday.

It’s expected to draw older engines from several states and will also feature demonstrations of the fairgrounds’ saw mill, a shingle mill and a Baker Fan/Power Eater.

“We’ll have antique power from steam engines to tractors to hit-and-miss engines coming in from all over the Southeast,” said Michael Moore, an organizer with the association. “There will be tractor games, cotton gin Saturday at 11 a.m. and the Parade of Power on Saturday at 2 p.m.”

Moore won’t have an exact count until the show starts, but estimated there will be “probably 100 to 150 hit and-miss-engines, probably 100 to 150 antique tractors and probably 10 steam engines.”

Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday.

The event is $5 per day for attendees, and free for those 12 and younger. Food and other vendors will be on hnad.
