It’s an election year in Forsyth County, and fees have been set for each county race.
At a meeting on Thursday, Forsyth County Commissioners voted 5-0 to approve qualifying fees for six seats that will be up for election this year.
“Pursuant to Georgia law, the board of commissioners has the obligation to set and publish the qualifying fees for upcoming county elections by Feb. 1,” said County Attorney Ken Jarrard.
For county commission Posts 1 and 3 — currently held by incumbents Pete Amos and Todd Levent, respectively — the fee will be $1,047.02.
The fee is $3,233.29 for state court solicitor and $4,311.05 for state court judge. Solicitor Bill Finch and Judge Leslie Abernathy-Maddox are the incumbents in those positions.
Forsyth County Board of Education Districts 1 — held by Ann Crow — and District 2 — Kristin Morrissey — will also be on the ballot this year. Qualifying for those seats is $252.
Dates for qualifying were not given at the meeting.
