Man, 19, airlifted to Grady after tractor trailer wreck in west Forsyth
emergency

WEST FORSYTH -- A 19-year-old man from Cumming was airlifted to a hospital with what were described as serious injuries Wednesday afternoon after his vehicle collided with a tractor trailer.

The man reportedly was attempting to turn left out of the Solo gas station at the intersection of Canton Highway (Hwy. 20) and Dr. Bramblett Road on July 21 when he pulled into the path of the tractor trailer, which was traveling west on Hwy. 20, according to Deputy Epifanio Rodriguez, a spokesman for the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office.

The collision made impact on the driver’s side door of the teen’s vehicle, entrapping him inside.

Forsyth County Fire Department personnel removed him from the truck before a medical helicopter transported him to Grady Hospital in Atlanta.

The driver of the semi-truck, a 53-year-old man from Ohio, was transported to Northside Hospital-Forsyth with complaints of back pain.

A crash investigations unit with the sheriff’s office is looking into the cause of the crash, which has not been officially determined.
