CUMMING -- Emergency workers called to a site where a medical office building is being built adjacent to Northside Hospital-Forsyth found one man who had been critically injured after being run over by a piece of equipment.

Forsyth County Fire Department Division Chief Jason Shivers said the worker was run over by a piece of tracked equipment, although they were having some trouble determining exactly which one it was due to a language barrier.

Shivers said the victim was taken by ambulance to North Fulton Hospital, where the nearest trauma center is located, with critical injuries to his chest and upper torso.

Shivers said inspectors from the fire department are on scene and that OSHA had been notified of the accident.
