Man injured in fiery wreck in South Hall
emergency

A man suffered severe burns to more than half his body in a wreck this morning at the intersection of Lanier Islands Parkway and McEver Road in South Hall County.

The incident involved a tractor-trailer and a van, which was “fully engulfed in flames” when firefighters arrived, according to Hall County Fire Services spokesman Capt. Zachary Brackett.

Bystanders had pulled the middle-aged man from the van, which he had been driving, Brackett said. He was being flown to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta.

McEver Road is shut down northbound and eastbound at the intersection, but Brackett said traffic “is still flowing pretty well for now. Mainly just the intersection is affected.”
